We have many dastardly tools in our arsenal.
We are stealthy and silent, and shall have our kill in due time. Good scouts know when to be patient, and they also know to strike when the iron is hot.
You can't run. You can't hide.
You can only die in that slow, tanked out suit that claims the lives of the weak and clueless.
You should tell that to the scouts I see in pure evil or Molon labe etc. They seem to just stack kincats and dampeners and never stop sprinting. On certain maps, it's pretty impossible to counter this if you aren't a scout. Wall hacks + the ability to run away after alpha one shotting your target with a shotgun is pretty hard to counter. It's literally their stacked abilities vs. your blind luck of having twirled around at the right moment. I spend half those matches constantly spinning in circles and it still won't matter when they simply tank all my damage with their 350 e/hp before ohkoing me. I don't use aim assist though so it's pretty nerve wracking to deal with players that suddenly appear in your face bunny hoping and auto tracking your every move. I use minmitar and caldari suits though, so maybe I just have to accept that the shield profile ohko weapon is ridiculous to counter. At least with knova knives the scout has to get incredibly close, even with the knife adhesion. I get ohkoed in my shield fits by shotgun scouts from 7-10 meters away.
Aim assist hurts in all other engagements but shot gun scouts that move at 9-12 m/s you just can't stop them from closing in. I guess its working as intended it just makes me question as the game becomes more and more balanced how that could be countered? I can easily counter hmg spam by outranging it or alpha koing them with a forge or remotes or something but scouts sprinting that you cannot detect.... I just haven't figured out a counter which doesn't include:
A. Getting lucky and spotting them out in the open away from me.
B. Grabbing my cloak and shotgun and joining them.
It just doesn't feel balanced. Much like tanks encouraged you to use tanks in 1.7.
Edit: Though I am absolutely open to people making suggestions other than to join Scouts514. I am literally stumped on how you counter something you cannot see and has the alpha damage to ohko you. I know people may say teamwork but that's again what tankers said in 1.7. I don't think having to use multiple people to counter one person is balanced. This should only occur because a player is that good not because their loadout is that good. |

Explain how it's not all that helpful for me to break LOS and stand still and wait for a target to turn around only to sprint up to them and in a split second swap to a shotgun and bam here comes the pain train.
It is absolutely useful in combat. Don't get me wrong I PREFER to use it on my Sniper/ScP scout for setting up sneaky assassinations but to say Shotgun/RE + Cloak isn't combat effective, well you are peddling some crazy horse ****.
And ironically to your suggestion only blueberries are fooled by cloaked hackers. I mean hell the only extremely useful cloaked hack is an objective hack and when I look at an objective and it's blinking and no one is there I blast the hell out of that objective because obvious cloaked scout is obvious. When anything else is hacked it's nominally useful as organized teams won't need CRUs as they have uplinks and if there is a supply depot it has no serious benefit to that lone scout. |

To be honest I feel like this game would be near perfect in balance if the shotgun didn't exist. That way scouts don't have a massive alpha weapon to use in combination with their cloak.
Inversely, cloaks probably shouldn't of been implemented for matters of balance. Most games that include cloaks, treat cloaks as a one man vs. several situation.
But I'm fairly certain the CCP dev team responsible for dust cares nothing for balance and is just shooting in the dark. It's why I think Legion will probably fail like Dust, from a business standpoint. Yeah we play Dust, but they canceled development for a reason. |

Could you believe that players are requesting the proficiency be changed from dispersion (Which they say hurts them... you know because a tighter spread means you can't blindly fire as much... ******* amateurs.) Instead they want RoF, you know so they can blindly pellet players at much higher speeds. This is why we can't have nice things. |
